The European League of Legends scene is going through a difficult period, and this is particularly evident in the viewership statistics for LFL 2026 Summer. Just a few years ago, the LFL could compete with franchised leagues in terms of audience reach, but its numbers have now fallen to their lowest level since the league’s launch.
LFL 2026 Summer viewership statistics and trends
LFL 2026 Summer matches generated a total of 1.19 million Hours Watched, down 10% from the spring split. The other metrics also declined: Average Viewers fell by 4.9% compared with LFL 2026 Spring, while Peak Viewers dropped by 9.7%.
The most-watched match of LFL 2026 Summer was the Week 3 group-stage clash between Joblife and ZYB, which peaked at just over 47K viewers. This result was only possible because both teams received strong support from community casters: the match was covered by Toma “JLTomy” Abdellaoui, the owner of Joblife, and Yasin “nisqyy” Dinçer, the head coach of ZYB.
Viewership for the other matchups was considerably lower. Joblife and ZYB were eliminated relatively early, and without their community-casting support, audience activity dropped significantly during the final stages of the tournament.
For example, not a single playoff match appeared among the most-popular games by Peak Viewers. Moreover, the ranking included no matches featuring the finalists, Galions and TLN Pirates.
Although these teams delivered the strongest competitive performances, they were not particularly popular with the tournament’s audience and failed to enter even the top five teams by Average Viewers.
Most popular national leagues of the summer 2026 EMEA season
LFL 2026 Summer remains the most popular national League of Legends competition within the EMEA Masters ecosystem. However, the French league is clearly experiencing a prolonged decline, with its livestream viewership falling for seven consecutive seasons.
Most popular LFL leagues of the 2024-2026 season
At the height of its popularity during LFL Spring 2024, the league attracted 231.1K concurrent viewers. Over the next three years, this figure fell by 80%. There are many reasons for the decline, but the main one is the departure of the league’s biggest audience draws, including Karmine Corp’s main roster and Gentle Mates.
LFL 2026 Summer results and winners
Galions claimed the LFL 2026 Summer title after defeating TLN Pirates 3:1 in the grand final. Remarkably, that was the only map Galions lost throughout the entire playoff stage.
From a qualification standpoint, the LFL 2026 Summer final was largely a formality for Galions. The league’s top teams earned spots at EMEA Masters 2026 Summer, but Galions had already received an invitation as the reigning EMEA Masters 2026 Spring champion. As a result, its slot went to Skillcamp, which finished fourth in LFL 2026 Summer.
EMEA Masters 2026 Summer will be held online from September 21 to October 23, featuring 42 of the best teams from Europe’s national League of Legends competitions. Tournament results and viewership statistics will be available on the Esports Charts tournament page.
